The Sunshine Sisters are a trio of creative women who have teamed together to provide a fun, accessible way to promote self-esteem and learning in youngsters. What better means to entertain and teach children than music?

Comprised of experienced artistic professionals, The Sunshine Sisters offer music that is bright, uplifting, and educational. It invites the listener to join in on catchy original compositions such as "Green Apples" and "Penny In My Pocket" as well as old favorites like "You Are My Sunshine". With the title track of their first independently released CD, Shoot For The Moon, they provide a positive twist to the lullaby standard that gently encourages young people to aim high and to believe in their own abilities.

Let's meet these Sunshine Sisters, then, shall we?

Lonnie Martinez not only plays guitar, sings, and writes songs but is also a teacher of art and music. She is an Early Interventionist and Play Facilitator that has enjoyed a long and productive career in overseeing children with special needs. Her experience with children goes back as far as she can remember because Lonnie is the eldest of ten brothers and sisters! This mother of two has been performing both solo and with various musical ensembles over many years in venues across the United States. Lonnie has a beautiful singing voice that captivates audiences, young and old.

Janine Cooper is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who has a professional background in Adult Contemporary music. Her comical flair, coupled with her melodic sensibility, lends itself perfectly to children's music. Janine is also a gifted painter. Her paintings are unique, colorful, playful, and adventurous. She has designed sets for movies and television, and even runs her own record label! A true renaissance woman in every sense of the word.

Kindergarten teacher Mona Kolodzie is a co-writer of the Sunshine Sisters songs and a devoted mother of two. Passionate about children, she has been participating in and helping to coordinate school-oriented activities for over a decade. She takes pride in her work in the classroom and brings her book-smarts to the songwriting table when working with Lonnie and Janine. The results are songs that are clever, memorable, and accessible to children of all ages.

The Sunshine Sisters are an independently owned and operated enterprise. We beileve in the power of community all across the board; in life, in work, and in play. Please review our list of services to see the fun, interactive activities we can bring to your school, party, or social event.
